ISSNIP is supporting Entrepreneurs Week 2009

Entrepreneurs week 2009, August 7-14

Entrepreneurs Week ( is an initiative of Student Entrepreneurs, a student-run organisation based at the University of Melbourne, in partnership with other organisations committed to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation on university campuses around Melbourne. The event aims to raise awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship to students, providing them with a platform to interact with industry and broader entrepreneurial community.

Kicking off with the Opening Ceremony on Friday 7 August, the events include presentations by prestigious speakers, panel discussions, workshops, mini-competitions and the signature event of the week, the Innovators’ Challenge in which teams are asked to create as much "value" as possible from an assigned everyday object and implement it in only six days.

ISSNIP is once again supporting this endeavour and is hosting the ISSNIP Innovation Panel on Wednesday August 12, at 5.15pm in Brown theatre, Dept of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Melbourne. The panel session, titled “Commercializing Your Invention” will feature panellist sharing their insights and experiences the varied paths from idea to product and beyond. The panel will feature: Subhash Challa (CTO and co-founder - SenSen Networks), Robert Slaviero (Managing Director, Analog Devices Australia), Rahgu Iyer (Director and Founder, Source Dynamix) and Byron Bowman (Senior Associate & patent attorney, Griffith Hack).
