Abstract:
Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is currently diagnosed in sleep laboratories through costly overnight polysomnographic studies. However, if a diagnosis of OSA was made possible by examining an ECG signal, the diagnostic recording could be conducted in the patient’s home using cheaper ambulatory ECG monitoring technology. This study proposes a method for determining the beginning and end of OSA events using the ECG. Also a method for accurately determining individual breath times from the ECG is presented.
